As many of you may have heard from media reports worldwide, the Freedom Flotilla ship ‘Conscience’ was targeted by two drones last night while in International waters just 14 nautical miles off the coast of Malta: https://youtube.com/shorts/3IBsOGJbw6I

Although our Canadian Boat to Gaza campaign is not participating in this particular campaign, we stand with our sister campaigns who are directly involved and continue to support their solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza. There were 18 people onboard at the time of the attack and dozens more people from over 20 different countries were scheduled to board this morning. Civil society campaigns like those that make up the Freedom Flotilla are only compelled to sail life-saving aid to Gaza because governments around the world have refused to stop Israel’s campaign of extermination and starvation. Today’s attack on the Freedom Flotilla ship off the coast of Malta is not just an act of terrorism—it’s a consequence of global complicity by so many of our governments.
