Dear friends and supporters,

The Freedom Flotilla boat Madleen is sailing through international waters and approaching Palestinian territorial waters off the coast of Gaza right now. The thoughts and prayers of many thousands of people from around the world accompany this small boat, with its cargo of urgently needed aid (including baby formula, children’s limb prosthetics, food, medicine and water purification supplies), boundless love and human solidarity. 

There are 12 civilian volunteers on board Madleen, including journalists from France and activists from France, Sweden, Türkiye, Spain, Brazil, Germany and Netherlands. While cannot all get on board a small boat in the Eastern Mediterranean, we all have a vital role to play as ‘passengers on land’: we can act as ‘life preservers’ for those at sea.

Please take one minute and go to bit.ly/IsraelOnNotice, where you can send a letter to the Israeli government, UN officials, and diplomatic missions demanding that Israel abide by international law and refrain from attacking, sabotaging or otherwise interfering with the Madleen and her mission.

Madleen is a UK-flagged civilian ship and the UK therefore has a legal duty to protect its vessel and the civilians aboard from Israeli interference. Under international law, the  UK must:

• Prevent genocide.

• Reject Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza.

• Defend its flagged ship from unlawful attacks.

Support us by taking action! Contact the Foreign Office and your MP. Demand protection for Madleen and accountability for unlawful aggression again this boat. Canada, France and the UK have promised sanctions against Israel for its illegal actions: it is time to end impunity for war crimes! The so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” is a sham aid project designed to cover further oppression by the Israeli occupation forces against starving Palestinian civilians.
